Northwest Arkansas has two completely different water stories
Most of the region’s population drinks treated surface water that originates in Beaver Lake. Most of the region’s land area sits on private wells drawing from fractured Ozark limestone. Those two situations produce almost opposite complaints, and they need almost opposite equipment.
In the Beaver Lake cities, water arrives already filtered and disinfected. What people notice is the disinfectant — a chlorine taste at the tap and a pool-like smell in the shower. Classic scale problems are less common on that supply than a national water company’s script assumes.
On a private well in Madison County, Carroll County or the rural edges of Benton and Washington, groundwater moving through limestone brings dissolved minerals with it: hardness, iron, manganese, sometimes sulfur. And because karst lets surface water travel quickly through open fractures, bacteria and nitrate are genuine possibilities rather than theoretical ones.
What this means for you
If someone quotes you a large softener for a Fayetteville address on city water without measuring your hardness, ask them what your hardness actually is. It is a fair question and it ends a lot of conversations.

Water treatment sales has a reputation in places, and some of it is earned. Here is what you will not get from us.
No electrolysis demonstrations
The trick where a device turns your water brown measures nothing — the colour comes from the iron electrode corroding. It does the same thing to bottled water. We do not do it.
No TDS meter scare tactics
A TDS meter measures dissolved minerals. It cannot distinguish harmless calcium from arsenic and it detects no bacteria at all. It is not a safety test and we will not present it as one.
No same-day-only pricing
If a price is only good while the salesperson is standing in your kitchen, the price was never the real price. Ours does not expire in the driveway.
No invented contaminant claims
We will not tell you a system removes something. We will show you what a specific model is certified to reduce, and under which standard.
No selling you what you do not need
Sometimes the honest answer is a sediment filter, or a water-heater service, or nothing at all. We would rather say that than sell a system.
No medical claims
We are a water company, not a clinic. We will not tell you our equipment treats a skin condition or any other health problem.

Do you charge for a water test?
The in-home water test is free. Where your situation calls for certified laboratory analysis — bacteria, nitrate, lead, arsenic or PFAS, none of which can be measured reliably in a kitchen — we will explain what that involves and what it costs before anything is sent to a lab. Nothing gets charged without you agreeing to it first.
What areas do you serve?

Do I actually need a water treatment system?
Possibly not, and we will tell you if that is the case. Plenty of Northwest Arkansas households are on treated surface water that needs nothing more than a carbon filter at the kitchen tap, and plenty of wells test perfectly well. The test is what settles it.
Who installs the equipment?
NWA Water Pros specifies and supplies your system. Installation is performed by an independent licensed plumbing contractor.
How is water on a private well different from city water?
A public water system is monitored and regulated, and publishes an annual report. A private well is not monitored by anyone. Whatever is in it is yours to find out about, which is why we recommend annual testing for bacteria and nitrate on any well. See well water filtration.
Will you pressure me into buying something?
No. We do not use same-day-only pricing, we do not ask you to sign anything during the visit, and we do not perform the electrolysis demonstration that turns a glass of water brown — that is sales theatre, not a water test.
